#winewednesdays: Château Latour’s vineyard currently consists of 92 hectares of vines (that's more than 100 football fields!), including the 47 that surround the Château, known as the Enclos, that are potentially used in the production of the Grand Vin.
“Grand Vin,” or “great wine,” is a way for a château to indicate its best wine, a step up from the second bottling. It denotes what they believe is their best showing.
The property is planted with about 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
